Fit For A King?

No, but they have for Her Majesty The Queen and now a Duke and a Duchess!

A successful Paisley company has been contracted to install carpets this month, October 2015 for the Duke & Duchess of Northumberland within their new shooting lodge at Earnscleugh in the Scottish Borders.

Handmade Killim – A tapestry woven carpet – was sourced in Afghanistan by designers Cecile & Boyd from Cape Town in South Africa, who in turn following many conversations with Director Alastair Donnell contracted his company CarpetworksUK Ltd of Paisley for the installation.

Alastair revealed that this will actually be their second contract and installation for the 10th Duke of Northumberland Ralph Percy following on from their first job in September 2014.

A “little – known” fact is that one of Carpetworks professional carpet fitters Kenny, also installed carpet in the Queens bedroom at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.

A COMPANY YOU CAN TRUST:

Argyll Holidays: “We have always been impressed with the quality of service & products by Alastair & the workmanship of his team”

Holiday Property Bond: “ I look forward to our continued working relationship for many years to come”

Students Union Association: “Show a fine detail to quality and finish and provide competitive prices”.

Prime Contracts: “They are professional, honest and reliable; there is no need to look anywhere else”.

Other contracts that will be keeping them busy is the refurbishment of the Fox And Hounds in Houston, where they are contracted to supply and install over 500m2 of contract quality carpet, as well as the supply and installation of 10 Row Axminster carpet for Carlton PLC in Stirling with a value of just under £20k And a continuation of works for HPB at Tigh Mor in the Trossachs, Hunters Quay Dunoon and Ross Hall hospital in Glasgow.

Alastair advises that they are also in the “front running” for Pacific House in Glasgow (value £27k) and are currently pricing work in Croydon London, St Clements Jersey and for the Aramante Hotel in Cannes, France.

Newhey Carpets

CarpetworksUK Ltd were delighted to have been asked once again to install Newhey commercial contract carpet to the first floor corridors and stairwells within the West Wing at the prestigious Taigh Mor Luxury Castle Apartments and Cottages Complex.

Taigh Mor is a magnificent Victorian building set within breathtaking scenery in the heart of the Trossachs and it is truly a delight each time we are asked to visit to carry out our works.

The carpet chosen for this installation was from Newhey Carpets. Designed and manufactured in the UK, Newhey Colortec is made using 100% recycled backing material along with high end quality wool rich pile yarns that provide outstanding durability.

As the carpet is manufactured 4mtrs wide, CarpetworksUK Ltd took great care and time in planning out the areas keeping waste to a minimum, whilst ensuring that there would be minimal joins required. In fact there were no cross joins in any of the corridors or landings and all seaming at widths were done using Silva-Seam jointing tape - a safer and far superior system than heat seam tape.

Our carpet fitters, Kenny and Jimmy installed new carpet on contract hair underlay using gripper and replacing old dull door trims with new anodised metals.

New Axminster Carpet

CarpetworksUK Ltd were delighted to have been chosen by Niven Paterson as the installer of his new Axminster carpet. Having looked at various designs, Niven stayed with his first choice of "Turkey Red" 9 Row Axminster and even our carpet fitters agreed that this old traditional design matched the interior of the oldest pub in Largs perfectly. The Turkey carpet is made with a rouge colour to highlight it's many features, with the stylish mixture of bold Red with Blue and Green badges supply unique patterns throughout - so should keep all football team supporters happy.

To keep disruption to a minimum, our fiters arrived in Largs before 6am and there met Niven and his team who had worked all night stripping out the old floor coverings and emptying the bar of furniture. This gave our fitting team a chance to install the new carpeting and safety vinyl and allow Niven to re-open in the afternoon. Carpetworks installed new carpet traditionally using gripper and contract hair underlay. New matting was supplied and fitted to both entrance areas with new metal trims surrounding matting and to front of bar spillage. Gradus nosings were supplied in White to highlight each edge of stair.

Polysafe slip resistant sheet vinyl was supplied and installed to the rear of bar and the two ladies cubicles. All vinyl was sealed at the perimeter and all seams were hot welded.

Nominated for the "Best Pub in Scotland" in 2012, Ye Old Anchor Inn made it to the last four in the competition.

This Inn is the oldest pub in Largs, opened in 1790 it is celebrating it's 225th birthday this year.

Vogue Bingo | Glasgow

CarpetworksUK were delighted to be asked back for the third time to complete the last toilet refurbishment within the Vogue Bingo Hall. The subfloor terrazzo had to be cleaned and primed prior to being screeded before we could install our new slip-resistant sheet vinyl. The perimeters were fully sealed and all seams were hot welded.

We were then asked to provide specialist "logo" matting for the two front entrance mat wells. We recommended Ingenious Extra Heavy Duty which is 100% Solution Dyed Polypropylene. The new matting in Black with Red lettering compliments the new external building signage.
